Indiana Care Select Pharmacy Services
Medicines for Indiana Care Select members are covered. You can go to any pharmacy that accepts Indiana Medicaid. If you have pharmacy questions or problems, please call 1.800.356.1204 and choose option #1.
How the Prescription Benefit Works
When you need medicine or over-the-counter items, your doctor will write a prescription. You can take that prescription to the pharmacy.
There are copays for your prescription medicine. You need to pay $3.00 to get a prescription filled at the pharmacy.
You do not have to pay a pharmacy copay:
1. For family planning supplies
2. For drugs dispensed in an emergency
3. If you are younger than 18 years of age
4. If you are pregnant
5. If you are inpatient in a hospital, nursing facility, intermediate care facility, or other medical institution
If you need help finding an Indiana Care Select pharmacy, you can call MDwise Customer Service for help at 1.800.356.1204 or 317.630.2831 in the Indianapolis area.
Prescription Medicine
Indiana Care Select covers necessary medicines. Your doctor must prescribe these medicines. It must be a medicine approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Indiana Care Select gives your health care provider a tool called a preferred drug list.
This helps him or her prescribe drugs for you. A preferred drug list is a list of brand and generic medicines covered by Indiana Care Select. Care Select members can call 1.800.457.4584, option 2 to ask about medicines that are on the preferred drug list.
If you have Internet access, you can go to www.indianamedicaid.com.
This drug list also tells you the over-the-counter medicine and vitamins that are covered.
