Covering Kids and Families of Cass, Fulton and Miami Counties receive $15,000 from MDwise to support efforts to enroll more children and adults in state health plans
Logansport, Ind. – April 22, 2011
Covering Kids and Families (CKF) of Cass, Fulton and Miami Counties recently received a $15,000 donation from MDwise, a statewide managed health care organization, to further its efforts to enroll more eligible children and families in the state’s Medicaid health plans.
CKF of Cass, Fulton and Miami Counties is a coalition of partners overseen by Area Five Agency on Aging & Community Service that works to inform residents about state health insurance options and offers enrollment assistance to eligible individuals. Statewide, CKF of Indiana is made up of more than 500 partnering organizations committed to ensuring that all Hoosier children and families eligible for Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) are enrolled.
The $15,000 donation from MDwise will support CKF’s mission to help all Cass, Fulton and Miami County children and adults receive health coverage. MDwise is Indiana’s only not-for-profit managed care organization exclusively serving the state’s Medicaid population through three health plans – Hoosier Healthwise, the Healthy Indiana Plan and Care Select.
MDwise’s donation continues the organization’s long-standing support of CKF. Just last August, the organization donated backpacks through CKF to a Back to School event in Logansport.
With the help of MDwise and other supporters, CKF conducts various special events, such as health fairs, and disseminates information about the state’s health plan options to Cass, Fulton & Miami County residents.
