MDwise and the Raphael Health Center joined forces to ensure children and youth are prepared for going back to school. A free two-day health fair on July 25 and 26 in Indianapolis provided immunizations, health screenings and resources to help families get ready for the new school year and the fall sports season.

The event offered a variety of health screenings including lead, anemia, glucose, obesity, blood pressure, cholesterol, dental and vision. Necessary immunizations and sports physicals were provided along with echocardiograms and smoking cessation information. In addition, attendees received school uniforms while supplies lasted.

“Offering events like this to ensure children are up to date on their immunizations and aware of things like their cholesterol levels and risk for obesity is of major importance to us as we work to keep our youth healthy. We had a great turnout during the two days and enjoyed being able to offer these services to the public,” said MDwise’s Fernando Luna, who attended the event.
